Lezene Morris was born in Elizabeth, Ark., daughter of Ossie Alvin and Offie Lydia (Owens) Reynolds. She departed this life July 24, 2015, at Brooke Haven Healthcare in West Plains, Mo.
Lezene was united in marriage to Vernon William Montgomery on June 20, 1945, in Salem, Ark., and later married Coy James Morris on Oct. 30, 1965, in Salem, Ark.
She was a factory worker for Sifers Candy in Kansas City, Mo., and later became a full-time homemaker. She was of Christian faith after giving her life to Jesus Christ as a young adult.
Lezene was a feisty and independent woman who kept an immaculate house. She was loyal and dedicated to her friends, and loved to visit with them on the phone, or while sitting on the porch sharing a cold Coke. Lezene did beautiful embroidery work and gifted it all to her family and friends. She loved her dogs Bandit and Tramp, country music, singing, reading, Cokes in the little glass bottles and cooking for her family, especially apple pies. She was a loving mother and grandmother and blessed her family with her talents and sense of humor.
Lezene is survived by two daughters, Donna Jean Foster of Sturkie, Ark., and Cindy Ann Temple (Dr. Greg Temple), West Plains, Mo.; three sisters, Anna Lee Hodges (Bill), Salem, Ark., Shirley Ray Painter, West Plains, Mo., and Patricia Diane Garrison (L.D.), Isabella, Mo.; four grandchildren, Amy Lezene Smithee (Josh), Jamie LeAnn Foster (Chad), Timothy Joseph Temple (Alanna) and Robert Lynn Temple; six great-grandchildren, Emily Brooke Casey (Tyler), Maggie Beth Foster, Nicole Donn Foster, Lynnsey Jo Foster, Lynn James Temple and Anna Ruth Temple; and many other relatives and friends.
Lezene was preceded in death by both husbands; her parents; son-in-law, (Larry Foster); two brothers (Delma Reynolds and Carroll Reynolds); and sister (Nadine Sanders).
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Barker Funeral Home Chapel in Salem, Ark., with Bro. David Ball officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Barker Funeral Home of Salem. Pallbearers are T.J. Temple, Robby Temple, Greg Temple, Josh Smithee, Chad Foster, Paul Foster and Matt Foster. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Painter, Preston Garrison, Monty Reynolds, Patrick Reynolds, Lynn Reynolds, Wayne Sanders, Jay Ware, Chuck Hodges and Bill Hodges.
Burial will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery, Elizabeth, Ark. Memorials preferred to the Elizabeth Cemetery Fund. Guests may sign the online register book www.barkerfuneral.com.
