Martha Stuart

Martha N. Stuart, a long time resident of Willow Springs, passed away Saturday morning, April 9, 2016 while at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains from natural causes. Born December 25, 1940 in Thayer, Mo., to Clyde and Susan (Garrison) Stuart. She was 75 years old.

Martha grew up in Thayer, attended the local schools and graduated from Thayer High School, Class of 1958. She settled in Willow Springs approximately 20 years ago, and was employed by Conaway-Winter Shoe Factory until it closed. She was described as a very kind and loving person who took great joy in helping others any way she could, especially her family and friends. She had many enjoyments in life; however, she especially loved and took great pride in working in her flower beds and garden. She will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew her.

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Robert; and her siblings, Jack Stuart, Alma Fern Kesterson, Myron “Sonny” Stuart, and her aunt Lola Coker.

She is survived by her significant other, William H. Nelson of Willow Springs; her brother, Terry Stuart and his wife Shirley of Quincy, Ill., and her sister-in-law Vicki Stuart of Mt. Rose, Colo. Numerous nieces and nephews further survive.

A graveside service for Martha will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery in Pomona with Pastor Scott Williamson officiating.
