Forrest Wayne Wagner, 74, of West Plains passed away on Nov. 20, 2015, peacefully at his home.

Mr. Wagner was born in Westcliff, Colo., on Nov. 24, 1940, to Frank Herman Wagner Jr. and Dorothy Frank Wagner. He grew up and graduated in the small town of Walsenburg, Colo.,

As a young boy he worked on a ranch, which instilled a strong work ethic and created a lifelong love of horses.

At the age of 26, he was hired by the Denver Police Department. During his 25 years of service, he served as a mounted police officer, SWAT unit officer, and on the K-9 Bomb Unit. In addition he was a security officer for Mountain State Bank of Denver.

Upon retiring, he and his wife fulfilled their dream of owning their own farm in the West Plains, Mo., area. During his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling the country in their RV.

Mr. Wagner was a hard worker and a dedicated father, husband and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Judy Wagner; sister Kay Wagner; sons Wesley Wagner and Jeffrey Wagner and wife Kimberly, all of Denver; daughter Jorgina Rumley and husband Mike, also of Denver; step-daughters Heather Foster and husband Jeff of Tennessee and Amren Fowler and husband Tim of Ohio; grandchildren Bryan Wagner, Sarah Wagner, Matthew Gilliam, Ashlyn Wagner, Kalissa Wagner, Madison Rumley, Brooke Rumley, MayceKay Fowler and Laney Fowler.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Sandra Wagner.

In accordance with Mr. Wagner’s wishes, there will be no viewing or formal services. The families will have a private celebration of his life.
