A memorial service with full military honors will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, to honor Harold Dean Davis, 69, of Mountain Grove, Mo., who passed away on Dec. 6, 2016.

Mr. Davis departed this life on Dec. 6, 2015, at Texas County Memorial Hospital. He was born on Sept. 11, 1946, in Willow Springs, Mo., the son of Alvin Willard and Novella Fern (McCart) Davis.

Dean was a 1964 graduate of Willow Springs High School. He then honorably served his country as a Military Police Officer in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

His parents, Alvin “Jim” and Novella Davis, precede him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Abby Clinton and husband, John, of Willow Springs; two grandsons, Dorian Clinton and Hayden Clinton of Willow Springs; and several cousins and close friends.

Dean was a very recently born-again Christian. He was a long-time radio station manager and salesperson for radio stations in Willow Springs (KUKU) and Mountain Grove. He owned and operated a bar and grill in Mountain Grove and Cabool. Dean also served as the mayor of Willow Springs in the early 1980s.

Dean was a patriot with a deep respect for those who have served, and those who are still serving, in the military. He never met a stranger and enjoyed spending time visiting with family and friends. Dean was a “car guy” and loved antique cars and trucks, especially his 1950 Chevrolet, dubbed the “nifty fifty”. He took great pride in his daughter, Abby, and his grandsons, Dorian and Hayden.

The memorial service will beheld at Yarber Mortuary, Willow Springs, with Pastor Doug Brower officiating. Memorial donations may be made to the Willow Springs Scholarship Club, P.O. Box 484, Willow Springs, MO 65793. Condolences may be expressed at www.yarbermortuary.com.
