Nora Elizabeth 'Jackie' Michel

Nora Elizabeth “Jackie” Michel, 85, Springfield, Mo., formerly of Aurora, Mo., passed away at 9:32 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, 2015, at her home. Jackie was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Monett, Mo., the daughter of the late Faye and Lilly (Young) Sisco.

On Sept. 29, 1949, she married Jimmy Michel in Eureka Springs, Ark.

Jackie and her husband started Jimmy Michel Motors in Aurora in 1968. She loved working at the dealership alongside of her husband, son and daughter-in-law. She was an avid golf player, loved spending time with her family, traveling with her grandchildren and loved gambling at the casino. She was a 50-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Aurora.

She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Jimmy, of the home; one son, Tim (Rita) Michel, Springfield; one daughter, Libby (Bruce) Grisham, West Plains, Mo.; one sister, Frankie Tjarks, Iowa Falls, Iowa; four grandchildren, Stacey (Chris) Vaught, Kami (Eric) Shoenberger, R.B. (Jackie) Grisham and Amy Grisham; seven great-grandchildren, Chad, Bryant and Ashley Vaught, Emilie and Eric Shoenberger, Robert and Kellett Grisham.

Her two sisters, Joann Ezell and June Williams, also preceded her in death.

The family would like to say special thanks to Jackie’s nurse, Jody Davis.

A memorial service was at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Aurora. Visitation was 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, in the funeral home chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora in care of the funeral home.
