Xi Chapter Delta Kappa Gamma State met at 11 a.m. Nov. 17 at the West Plains Country Club with 16 members present. President Joan Dix began the meeting with the Collect: Reflections on What is Education? “It is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think.” - Albert Einstein.

Dix and Judy Turner presented the Xi chapter bylaws, which were reviewed, discussed and approved. Turner presented the slate of new officers for the next biennium. Blanche McKinney gave an “impressive” report on appreciation of the chapter’s founders, shared club members.

Xi Chapter gives scholarships to both high school and college students each year. Scholarships are also available through Delta Kappa Gamma Society International. The group’s stated mission: “DKG Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.”

West Plains members served collectively as hostess for the meeting, using “President’s Day” as the theme.
