Students in Richards School’s prekindergarten were instructed by teacher Lenora Adams, shown here with the children, and aide Darlene Morrison in basic classroom manners on their first day of school Thursday. Skills they practiced included paying attention, lining up along tape placed on the floor and following directions. There were 14 students in the class. It was also the first day of school for West Plains R-7 students and the surrounding rural school districts, including Glenwood, Howell Valley, Junction Hill, Richards and Fairview, plus South Fork Elementary, which is part of the West Plains R-7 district.
