FESTIVE INSIDE AND OUT

Mary and William Hunter, 991 N. Howell Ave. in West Plains, go all out decorating for Christmas, decking the halls inside and the porch and yard outside. Mary said it takes about two weeks for her to set up indoor decorations, including trees, dolls, wall hangings, pine garland and an antique set of animated carolers in the front window, once used as a store display.

A display of singers and a sleigh rider that appear to have stepped from the pages of Charles Dickens' “A Christmas Carol” is set up in the Hunters’ dining room, with a snowy scene as the background. The Hunters’ home has been showcased in the past as part of the Christmas Tour of Homes, a former fundraiser for the West Plains Clubs of the General Federated Women's Clubs.
