COMMUNITY FIRST BANKING COMPANY donated $500 to the West Plains Rotary Club’s annual fundraiser, a giveaway that includes $500 cash and a prize package with many items associated with outdoor activities. The winner's name will be drawn at noon Nov. 10. Typically held as a food-and-drink showcase of Show-Me State flavors, Taste of Missouri is a fundraiser to support Rotary’s community programs including its Backpack Program to help ensure area students don’t go hungry outside of school. An alternative fundraiser was designed this year out of consideration for health and safety guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19. Tickets for the prize package are $5 each or $25 for six, and may be purchased from any Rotarian or at Community First Banking Company, the West Plains Daily Quill or Wood & Huston Bank.
