Pink and White victory

The West Plains High School Lady Zizzers closed out 2020 by being crowned the White Division champions of the Pink and White Lady Classic Basketball Tournament on New Year’s Eve in Springfield, having triumphed over the Nixa Lady Eagles. The 61-58 triple-overtime, fight-to-the-death match is exactly the way championship games are meant to be played. “We came into the game ranked No. 1 in Class 5, but Nixa was a state-ranked Class 6 team, so we knew we had a fight on our hands,” said Zizzers Head Coach Scott Womack. In addition to winning the top prize for ball-playing, the Zizzers also earned the Team Sportsmanship award.
