Foster children’s fundraiser

The fundraising season for foster children in the 37th Judicial Circuit has begun and a $500 donation has been made by the West Plains Lions Club. The fund helps foster families pay for medical expenses not covered by Medicaid, a Christmas party and summer trip for about 275 foster children in Howell, Oregon, Shannon and Carter counties. The party and trip are a chance for foster children to socialize and “network” with other children in the same circumstances, whom they might find easier to relate to, Children’s Division representatives said. Other organizations and individuals may make a donation by calling 37th Judicial Circuit Manager Shawn Bentley at 417-853-4325 or Lions Club President Reta House at 293-4237.
