Monday crash injures 3

THREE PEOPLE, including a toddler, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 12:30 p.m. Monday on U.S. 63, near the intersection of OO Highway a mile north of Thayer, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Tpr. T.D. Pond with Troop G of the patrol, Willow Springs, reported driver Amber M. Hobbs, 31, and her passenger, a 2-year-old boy, both of Cave City, Ark., were southbound in a 2018 Nissan Titan, left, that crossed the center of the road and struck a northbound 2014 Ford Fusion head-on. The Ford was driven by Rose M. Brown, 68, of West Plains, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt. According to the patrol, Hobbs was not wearing a seat belt, but the toddler was in a car seat. Serious injuries were reported for both drivers and both were airlifted for medical attention, Hobbs to Regional One Health Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn., and Brown to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mtn. Home, Ark. Minor injuries were reported for the boy, who was taken by Oregon County Ambulance to Ozarks Medical Center in West Plains. The patrol does not report the names of children younger than 17. Tpr. Pond was assisted at the scene by Cpl. J.C. Howell, Tpr. J.M. Kenyon, the Thayer Fire Department and the Oregon County Sheriff’s Department.
