Contributing to voter safety

Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft delivered personal protective equipment including hand sanitizer, distancing strips, face masks and informational posters Monday morning to Howell County Clerk Kelly Waggoner. The supplies will be used for the June 2 municipal election at voting locations by election judges, and include bottles of Helping Hands sanitizer donated by Holladay Distilling Company of Weston. Ashcroft also delivered supplies to Phelps, Texas, Oregon, Ripley, Butler, Wayne, Carter, Shannon, Dent, Crawford and Gasconade counties Monday. The West Plains municipal election was originally scheduled for April 7. On March 18, officials announced it would be postponed to June 2. Absentee voting may be done in person through 5 p.m. June 1 at the county clerk’s office, 35 Court Square, West Plains, and voters can request a mail-in ballot until Wednesday.
