Small hero, big impact

“It's really nice to honor any Missourian, but a 7-year-old Missourian, now 8, who did something heroic in saving her father’s life is pretty remarkable,” said 8th District U.S. Rep. Jason Smith, of Salem. On Friday, Smith visited Willow Springs to present Lillie Davis, center, with a Congressional Record recognizing her heroic actions that saved her father’s life. In April, the youngster was presented an award for bravery for intervening while her father had a seizure, calmly calling 911 for help and saving her father's life, according to police officials.  “I didn’t think about being a hero, I just knew I had to help my dad,” said Lillie. She is the daughter of Seth and Samantha Davis of Willow Springs. With Lillie are Smith, left, and 154th District Rep. David Evans of West Plains.
