TEANNA SIMPSON, 22, of Koshkonong, crouches next to her Optimizer (Saler/Angus cross) heifer Friday at the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. Simpson, who has shown cattle for nearly two decades in the junior division, entered the ring as an adult for the first time this year and won Champion Optimizer Female. This year marks Simpson’s first time entering another arena as an adult: the classroom. She has been hired to teach agriculture and serve as an FFA adviser at Thayer High School. To learn more about Simpson’s passion for agriculture, watch for the Fall 2019 issue of Ozarks Magazine in the Aug. 30 Quill.
