The first 500 guests to arrive at Friday’s Taste of Missouri event will receive free tasting glasses to take home after an evening of sampling Missouri-made beverages and food. The West Plains Rotary Club fundraiser runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will take place in the West Plains Civic Center arena and exhibit hall. Tickets are $35 at the door. Live musical entertainment will be provided by singer and West Plains native Art Bentley (top left photo), and food and beverages will be provided by area caterers, producers, restaurants, breweries, wineries and distributors. Proceeds from the event help support the Rotary Backpack Program, providing local children with food insecurity easy-to-prepare meals and snacks, sent home each weekend in a backpack. This is the seventh year Rotary has hosted the fundraiser.
