Dairy Princess

LAST DAY — Since 1952, the Dairy Princess, previously known as Maid-Rite, has served their famous crumble burgers to the hungry denizens of West Plains, but on Friday the owners announced on Facebook that they would be closing the restaurant Monday as they continue to look for prospective buyers. Co-owner Robbie Crites said his parents bought the business in 1980 but in recent years running the Dairy Princess was becoming too much and they had been looking for buyers for awhile. He said that they have some promising leads. “We want to thank the community and all present and former co-workers,” Crites said. “When my mom and dad were there every day, everyone was like family. We knew their kids and they all knew us.” He added that when his mom was sick and before she died in 2014, people were so good and understanding.
