W.P. Rotary alternative fundraiser to give away Outdoor Adventure prize package

RAMONA HEINEY State Farm Insurance agent, has donated $500 to the West Plains Rotary Club for its annual fundraiser, Taste of Missouri: Covid Edition Outdoor Adventure. The club is giving away a prize package at noon Nov. 10 which includes several items for fun outdoor activities, plus $500 cash. Typically held as a food-and-drink showcase of Show-Me State flavors, Taste of Missouri is a fundraiser to support Rotary’s community programs including its Backpack Program to help ensure area students don’t go hungry outside of school. An alternative fundraiser was designed this year out of consideration for health and safety guidelines to slow the spread of COVID-19. Tickets for the prize package are $5 each or $25 for six, and may be purchased from any Rotarian or at the West Plains Daily Quill, Community First Banking Company or Wood & Huston Bank. Heiney is a long-time Rotarian and helps organize the club's fundraiser each year. Her office is located at 1024 Porter Wagoner Blvd. and includes employees, from left, Abbey Hicks, Rachel Stewart, Andrew Dodd, Kate Martin and Heiney.
