A West Plains man is charged with first-degree burglary after allegedly breaking into a house and assaulting a woman.

Donald Snethern Jr., 33, Missouri Avenue, was arrested at 10:42 p.m. Oct. 29 on County Road 8240 on the burglary charge and West Plains city charges of failure to appear on charges of failure to provide proof of insurance and driving without a license. He was held on $4,534.06 bail. 

Officer Travis Howell of the West Plains Police Department reported at about 3:51 a.m. Oct. 2 he was dispatched to a home on Missouri Avenue, a woman there saying Snethern had forced entry into her home through a basement window, then pushed her down. 

The alleged attack reportedly caused her to strike her head on the wall and suffer injuries to her right hand and midsection.
