A West Plains man is charged with delivery of a controlled substance after an investigation into suspected drug activity reportedly uncovered a large amount of marijuana.

The felony charge was filed on Friday against Shane M. Thompson, 30, Lanton Road. A warrant has not yet been issued.

West Plains Police Detective Kyle Parrish reported he went to Thompson’s home on May 17, 2018, and when Thompson opened the door the officer said he smelled the strong odor of raw marijuana coming from inside.

After obtaining a search warrant, Parrish located a large quantity of a green, leafy substance that was found by Missouri State Highway Patrol crime lab testing to be marijuana. The quantity was reportedly 85 grams, 50 grams more than what is legally considered to be for personal use.

Thompson allegedly admitted to Parrish he distributed marijuana and had done so earlier that week.

not so I as a resident of arrow head acres know as a fact that this is not true I was at work when my wife called me ...I can have Verizon verify the conversation ..when police of West Plains Supposedly had a warrant to search the home of Shane Thompson..which in my understanding they forced him out of his home and would not let him re-inter
