A West Plains woman has been charged after allegedly admitting to holding her preteen son by the throat and biting him on the face.
Jill Rosemarea Donica, 40, County Road 880, has been charged with abuse or neglect of a child and first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, creating a substantial risk. Both are felonies.
Howell County Sheriff’s Department Investigator Justin Riley said that on May 18 Donica contacted the sheriff’s department to report her children, ages 11 and 12, had run away.
Deputy Dylan Webb responded to the scene and after he found the children, noticed injuries to the boy’s face. When asked what happened, the child reportedly told Webb his mother had caused the injuries and his story was consistent with the type of injury the deputy saw.
Investigator Riley was present at an interview with Donica and a Division of Health and Human Services investigator when Donica reportedly admitted to the assault.
