Two Howell County residents have been arrested on felony charges of receiving stolen property after being found in the vicinity of a stolen vehicle, one with the vehicle keys in his pocket.

Casey Orion O’Shaughnessy, 36, no current address, and Timmy Lee Frazier, 38, Mtn. View, were arrested Wednesday on County Road 4660. Each was released on $2,500 bail.

Howell County Sheriff’s Deputy Logan Wake stated he responded to a report of an abandoned Ford Explorer on County Road 4660, the caller telling dispatch a man and woman were seen walking away from the scene.

A check of the vehicle’s identification number revealed it had been reported stolen out of Arkansas, and a wallet with O’Shaughnessy’s drivers license was found in the Explorer.

About 20 minutes after the vehicle was towed the caller that first reported the vehicle called back to say the two subjects seen before were back in the area. In speaking with Frazier and O’Shaughnessy, Wake reported neither were able to explain where they got the vehicle, how much was paid for it or why O’Shaugnessy’s license was in it.

The key to the Ford was found in Frazier’s jeans pocket during a subsequent search, Wake said.
