West Plains High School will have a new music teacher during the 2019-2020 school year.
Jordan Hall was hired during the West Plains R-7 School Board regular monthly meeting Tuesday at the West Plains Administration office.
In addition to paying bills and hearing the monthly financial report, the board heard from sixth-grade students with Zizzer Innovation Academy (ZIA). Students from the ZIA class taught by Nicole Riggs and Kelsey Ragsdale presented projects they had been working on.
Dr. Wesley Davis, director of human resources, recommended OPAA! food management services remain the food service provider and Community First Bank remain as the depositary for the district. The board approved.
Updates were given on bus inspections and capital improvements
Davis recommended the board accept a performance contract from the CTS group in St. Louis for help in determination of improvements to the district.
Davis also requested that the board look at the possibility of contracting services for substitutes to save the district time and money.
The next school board meeting is scheduled for April 16.
