A scarf hand-loomed in Zizzer red and black was recently presented to West Plains High School Principal Dr. Jack Randolph by Lynn Mayfield, West Plains, on behalf of other local veterans. During Randolph’s tenure, high school faculty, staff and students have held a Veterans Day breakfast and assembly, including guest speakers, music performed by the Zizzer Pride Band and recognition of local veterans. Randolph is retiring at the end of the school year. An embroidered panel on the scarf reads, “Thank you on behalf of all the southern Missouri veterans, for your kindness and support of all our local vets. You do not know how much that means to us. Good luck in your retirement may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Your local vets, with love and respect.” A second panel recognizes Randolph’s father-in-law Doug Potts, a veteran whom Randolph has spoken of as an inspiration to him.
