TRIBUTE IN SONG – Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce banquet presenter Kelly Hinds, at far right, introduced the chamber’s Citizen of the Year with a song dedicated to her. The introduction was fitting. Sharry Lovan, a local bluegrass musician, was described as an inspiration to him as a banjo musician. Joining him from left: Alan Strickland of West Plains, also a member of Lovan’s band Stringed Union, and guitar player Rod Cash. Hinds said she changed his whole life. Lovan is a member of the Stringed Union band and an organizer of bluegrass jam sessions each Monday night at the American Legion Hall in Willow Springs and regular performances at the Star Theater. “I love Willow Springs and I’m Willow Springs all the way,” she said in thanking chamber members for the honor.
