The Boys and Girls Club of the Greater West Plains Area is finalizing plans for one of the club’s largest fundraisers, Casino Night, to be held from 6 to 10 p.m. Feb. 29 at the West Plains Opera House, 37 Court Square. Sponsorships are available; call 204-2582 for more details. Games at the event will include roulette, blackjack, poker and slot machines, Fundraising Committee Chair Leslie Collins said. Bets will be placed using “funny money” that can be exchanged for entry tickets to the grand prize giveaway, a Las Vegas trip for two including airfare, accommodations and show tickets. There will also be silent and live auctions, music performed by Renee Wood’s Big Band, food catered by Bootleggers BBQ and alcoholic beverages including a special edition beer from Wages Brewing Co. Tickets are $50 in advance, $60 at the door, and include two drink vouchers, dinner and funny money. Committee members, from left: Wendy Ziegler, Emily Grisham, Josh Sherman, Aaron Evans, Collins and Miranda Lowry.
