K-9 FUND DONATION

The Ozarks Spring chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution made a $500 donation this week to the West Plains Police Department’s K-9 Program. According to Police Chief Stephen Monticelli, the funds will go directly to supporting it and are kept separate from the police budget. He added the department is raising money to procure another police dog to help lessen the load on Loki, the department’s current K-9, acquired in January and shown in the front row with handler Officer Paul Bradshaw. For information about the program or donating, call 256-2244. Standing, from left: DAR members Lois Frazier, Jan Tappana, Karen Ryburn, LaVerna Williams, Linda Collins, Monticelli and Connie Weber.
