Mike and Sheila Newton, Amanda Mitchell, Jimmy Miller and Newton’s Agency donated $1,500 to the 31st Annual Cystic Fibrosis Concert. The concert features Rodney Atkins and starts at 7 p.m. with “Jessica’s Friends” children’s choir opening at 6 p.m. From 5 p.m. until the music starts, silent and live auctions will be held with a variety of items donated by area businesses. Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 at the door for adults, and $5 for children age 12 and younger. To order tickets by phone with a credit or debit card, call the civic center, 256-8123. From left: Amanda Mitchell, Jessica Joice-Frazier and Jimmy Miller. “Amanda and her sister Emily and Jimmy and his wife Julie are childhood friends of mine,” said Joice-Frazier. “Sheila was one of my delivery room nurses when I was born. So our families have been connected for a very long time. We appreciate them continuing to support our efforts to find a cure for cystic fibrosis.”
