Bryan J. Maloney, 47, West Plains, suffered serious injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 5:15 p.m. Friday on north U.S. 63, about two miles north of West Plains. Msgt. R.T. Rees of Troop G of the Missouri State Highway Patrol reported Maloney was driving a southbound 2005 Ford F250 when it went off the right side of the road and overturned. Rees reported Maloney was not wearing a seat belt and was taken by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Cpl. J.D. Wheeler and Tpr. C.P. Chatman assisted in the crash investigation. The Pomona Fire Department and Howell Rural Fire Deparment No. 1 responded to the scene and firefighters extricated Maloney from the pickup truck, then cleaned up debris and items that were thrown from the vehicle when it overturned.
