Posted

Marius Regenold (Skip) Badiny II passed away peacefully in his home Jan. 26 with his beloved wife Mary, his daughter Kim and a few close friends by his side.

Skip was born April 1, 1935, in Saline, Mich., to Marius R. Badiny of Turin, France, and Altha Davie of Bellingham, Wash.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary Badiny; his four children, Kim Haworth, Michael Badiny, Troy Badiny, Marius (Reggie) Badiny III; and three grandchildren, Kaiea and Nainoa Badiny and Jessica Badiny.

Skip spent most of his life in California, served in the Marine Corps, and was a police officer for Seaside, Calif. After moving to Missouri, he worked at Ozark Medical Center in West Plains. Skip loved his Lord and Savior foremost, and was a member of the WP SDA church. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, weightlifting, music (he played ukulele, drums, and organ), his dogs, cats, and gardening. He and Mary spent 35 years building Maranatha Farm, a beautiful five acre oasis in Rover with organic vegetables, herb and perennial gardens, fruit trees, berries and a Japanese garden.

Skip will always be fondly remembered for his kindness to everyone, and his loving, gentle spirit.

There will be a celebration of life the end of April.

Mary has suffered a tremendous loss of income and hopes to keep the farm going that Skip and her spent years building.

Contributions to assist his widow during this difficult time are welcome. They can be sent to Mary Badiny, 2985 DD Highway, Koshkonong, MO 65692.
