Funeral services for Nora Ellen Morris, 98, West Plains, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, 2019, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Oliver Bales and Alice Willard Bales, on Sept. 4, 1920, in Thomasville, and died March 18, 2019, in West Plains.
She was united in marriage Dec. 1, 1936, in Thomasville, to Robert Morris, who preceded her in death Oct. 30, 1988.
She is survived by eight children, Nancy Talley, Poplar Bluff, Bob Morris and wife Eva, Willow Springs, Jeanie Crow, West Plains, Tom Morris, Thomasville, Rick Morris and wife Sheila, Bernie, Phyllis Bertram, Jefferson City, Check Morris, Thomasville, and Alice Ollar and husband Robert, Thomasville; two brothers, Bill Bales and wife Joann, West Plains, and Jack Bales and wife Margie, Highridge; one sister Jo Williams, Thomasville; two sisters-in-law, Olive Bales, Poplar Bluff, and Vergie Bales, West Plains; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, and 20 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, Don Bales, John Bales, and Willard Bales; three grandchildren, Marlas Reeves, Rob Crandell, and Heather Morris, and one great-grandson, Grant Dotson.
She attended the First Baptist Church in Thomasville, for many years. She loved to read. She was a homemaker who loved to cook and take care of her family. She loved all of her grandchildren, and even babysit for several of them.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, 2019, at Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains.
Burial will be in Huddleston Cemetery, Oregon County, under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, Inc., West Plains.
