To the editor,

During a recent storm, straight-line winds tore through our neighborhood and blew down several trees and utility poles. Live electric lines were down in our streets creating a very dangerous area, and four or five transformers exploded and a couple caught fire.

Thankfully, firemen and other emergency personnel quickly responded and barricaded off the area keeping others from harms way. Later in the day, others arrived and worked throughout the night restoring power to our part of town.

With all of the damage caused by the storm, we expected to be without power for several days, but through hard work and dogged determination, they were able to get all power restored within 24 hours. Although our area was hard hit, the crews worked late into the night to finish the job. Thank you.

Likewise, the guys responsible for removing the fallen trees and poles had cleared most streets within hours, and almost all damage was cleared from public right of ways by the next day.

Everybody did a fantastic job. We are blessed to have such great people serving our community.
