To the editor:

As a long time truck driver (retired) I understand the use of "jake brakes.” In the West Plains area there is no need for jake braking.

Why can we not pass a noise ordinance for at least the hospital and rest home areas along Jan Howard Expressway? Signage in place would help.

Also why are the Expressway and some connecting streets used as drag strips after dark? Some of the "mufflers" are "amplifiers.” It gets loud around the rest homes and Worley Drive in the spring and summer.

To the younger generation, please show respect to the people in the hospital and rest homes.

To the people who are in charge of enacting our rules and ordinances, please act on this.
