For ten years, West Plains Bank and Trust Company has offered community debit cards to customers featuring designs for school districts where the bank has branches, and Ozarks Healthcare. The total for the program in 2022 is up $8,892 over last year, coming in at $71,587. Across the life of the program, more than $400,000 has been donated to local schools and Ozarks Healthcare by West Plains Bank and Trust Company. more

The West Plains High School Class of 1972 will be holding their 50th Class Reunion with events starting on Friday, Oct. 7 with a float in the Homecoming Parade. Classmates are encouraged to come and ride the float. Line up for the parade is at 12:30 p.m.. Friday evening participants will be attending the Zizzer football game. Class of 1972 football players will be introduced before the game. Please plan on being at the game at 6:30 p.m. so we can all sit together as the Class of 1972. After the football game we will be meeting at the Hang Out (the old Dairy Princess) for fellowship and to ride the float. Saturday, Oct. 8 we will be having a bar-b-que at People’s Park for lunch. You can purchase a hot dog or hamburger, chips & drink for $9.72 or feel free to bring your own. All former teachers, friends and family are welcome to come. After lunch there will be a live auction to raise money for the Class of 1972 Scholarship Fund. Please bring an item to be auctioned off. Saturday night in the Magnolia Room at the West Plains Civic Center there will be a dinner catered by Ozark Cafe starting at 6 p.m. The price of the dinner is $24.72 per person. There will be a group picture taken at both the picnic and at the dinner. A Class Reflections Book is being made to update everyone on what we have been doing for the last 50 years. You can purchase the two pictures for $10 and the book for $10. Money raised from the sale of the Reflections Book and Class Pictures will be used to purchase classmates Memorial Books to be donated to the West Plains High School Library. more
