A Willow Springs man suffered serious injuries when his vehicle struck four other vehicles before hitting a concrete barrier and tree Monday afternoon in Willow Springs.
Three others were involved in the incident were reportedly treated for minor injuries.
Chief Bryan Hogan of the Willow Springs Police Department said in a news release at about 3:43 p.m. Monday Stanley Bunch, 57, was driving a westbound 2011 Chevrolet Camaro on Business 60/63 near the four-way stop at Harris Street and Main Street.
Bunch’s vehicle rear-ended a Ford Escape driven by Ashley Williams, of Bernie, then struck the front of her vehicle as Bunch drove around it. The Camaro then proceeded westbound on Main Street, striking a 2007 GMC Yukon driven by Robert James of Pomona and a 2001 Dodge Ram driven by Zoe Kimbrough, of Willow Springs.
The Camaro then swerved into the oncoming lane, colliding head-on with a 2014 Toyota Avalon driven by Michael Barreda, also of Willow Springs, before leaving the roadway and striking a barrier and tree near the YMCA on Main Street.
