Kayla Marie Barnett, West Plains, was ticketed at 11:49 p.m. Sunday on Thornburg Street on a charge of failure to use a seat belt or child restraint device. Officer Nate Bean.


Detective Joe Neu-schwander reported at 3:19 p.m. Jan. 18 the Missouri Children’s Division reported possible child abuse; the alleged victim was found at a home in West Plains. The incident reportedly happened in Oregon County and a report and evidence of injuries will be forwarded to Oregon County authorities.

A man reported at 4:42 p.m. Jan. 21 a counterfeit $20 bill was found in a register. The incident remains under investigation. Officer Josh Wichowski.

A woman reported at 5:34 p.m. Jan. 21 she received a text message in violation of an ex parte order. A report was forwarded to prosecutors. Officer Wichowski.

Officer Brad Jones reported at 1:20 p.m. Jan. 22 officers were dispatched to the area of Preacher Roe Boulevard near Burger King regarding a subject with active warrants in a vehicle. The subject was found to have a syringe and a crystal-like substance on him and another man in the vehicle was found to have active warrants. Charges are pending.

Code Enforcement Officer Tracy Morris reported at 1:49 p.m. Jan. 22 an administrative search warrant was requested by city officials for a home on Johnson Street. The inspection was to determine the condition of the home for the safety, health and well-being of any occupants, in response to public complaints and the observations of a city officer regarding the exterior appearance of the home. A report was forwarded to prosecutors.

A woman reported at 6:49 p.m. Jan. 22 she was contacted several times by a person against whom she has an ex parte order. A probable cause statement was forwarded to prosecutors. Officer Wichowski.

A man reported at 9:10 a.m. Jan. 24 someone took his vehicle. It was entered into law enforcement databases as stolen. The incident is under investigation. Officer Jones.
