INCIDENTS

A license plate was turned in to the police department at 10 p.m. Jan. 28. It was found on U.S. 63. The owner was contacted but has not claimed it. Officer John Murrell.

Officer Chris Barrett reported at 2:53 p.m. Jan. 29 some items were taken from a person living on Davidson Street. The missing items were returned and no charges are sought.

Employees of Southern Bank reported at 4:03 p.m. Jan. 30 a woman attempted to cash a stolen check. The woman was identified and the incident remains under investigation. Officer Murrell.

A man reported at 5:05 p.m. Jan. 30 a rifle was stolen from a home on Lanton Road. A possible suspect was identified and the matter remains under investigation. Officer Murrell.

Officer Conner Burnes reported at 3:02 p.m. Jan. 31 officers were dispatched to a business on Missouri Avenue while following up on a tip regarding a missing person. It was discovered the person was living in Mtn. Home, Ark.

At 4:46 p.m. Jan. 31 a person reported a domestic assault that had happened in 2018. Charges are pending. Officer Burnes.

Officer Justin Brown reported at 9:15 p.m. Jan. 31 he and his K-9 officer assisted the Howell County Sheriff’s Department with a narcotics search warrant at a home and several items believed to be narcotics were located. The incident remains under investigation.

Officers were dispatched at 11:18 p.m. Jan. 31 to a location on Aid Avenue to render medical assistance. Illicit substances were seen in plain view and seized but no charges are being filed. Officer Paul Bradshaw.

A suspect was ticketed on a charge of stealing at 12:59 p.m. Friday at Walmart after it was discovered she had changed price tags on clothing so they rang up at a lower price. The suspect was also determined to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and further charges are pending. Officer Ivie Powell.

A woman reported at 5:19 p.m. Friday a court-ordered child custody agreement was violated. The children were located and released to the woman. Charges are pending. Officer Michael Tinsley.

Officers responded at 12:34 a.m. Saturday to a home on Olden Street in reference to a suicidal woman. She admitted to officers she wished to harm herself and was transported to Ozarks Medical Center for treatment. Officer Bradshaw.

Officer Murrell reported at 11:14 a.m. Saturday he spoke to a woman about unauthorized charges to her debit card and learned another woman had been given permission to make one purchase but made two additional purchases without permission. The case remains under investigation.
