FULTON, Mo. (AP) — Donald P. Lofe Jr., who has served as Westminster College's interim president since June, has been named the Fulton-based college's 23rd president, effective July 1.
Lofe is a longtime businessman and a 1979 Westminster graduate who was formerly chairman of the Westminster Board of Trustees. He took over as interim president when Fletcher Lamkin retired.
Lofe earned Westminster’s Lifetime Alumnus Achievement Award in 2010.
“I’m honored and humbled by the confidence the College and the Board have placed in me,” Lofe said in a statement on Tuesday. “The progress we have made during this challenging year is the result of everyone working together in so many ways."
