The West Plains Fire Department was called out to respond to an alarm at 5:54 p.m. Saturday at Ozarks Christian Academy, 210 Allen Street.
Firefighters arrived on the scene within minutes, with the first on scene at 5:58 p.m., according to an incident report provided to the Quill by Fire Chief Chris Sterner, with the end result being a determination that there was no fire, and the automatic alarm system had unintentionally activated.
In all, six units responded to the false alarm, including an engine from Howell Rural Fire Department No. 1, answer the call in mutual aid.
