City of WP announces design contest

The City of West Plains has launched contest to redesign the city’s official seal, calling it a “unique opportunity for residents to leave their creative mark on the city’s legacy.”

The winning design will be used on all city documents and materials, officials explained.

Citizens of all ages and artistic abilities are invited to submit designs, which must be circular and represent the spirit and identity of West Plains, incorporating elements showing the city’s natural beauty, history or community values.

All submissions must be made digitally; hand-drawn designs should be scanned and emailed. High-resolution JPG, PNG or PDF files will be accepted. Email to seal@westplains.gov by Feb. 14.

A panel of judges will select five finalists to be voted on by the community between Feb. 18 and 28. The winning designer, to be announced March 4, will receive public recognition at a city council meeting and be featured in a press release and on the city’s social media platforms.

For more information, visit westplains.gov or contact Public Relations Coordinator Cody Sanders, 417-256-7175 ext. 2208 or cody.sanders@westplains.gov.
