New 4th of July Parade route announced

Planning for the annual Willow Springs 4th of July Parade is in full swing, announces the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce, and among those plans is a new route.

“This parade has grown in size to the point that we have outgrown the previous staging/lineup location of Booster Field and it is no longer safe to start there,” explained chamber Director Kim McCormick. Staging for the parade will now be at the gravel parking lot at the Willow Springs Schools complex on Ferguson Street, where lineup will begin. The parade will run the same route, just backwards, she noted, beginning at Ferguson and Main streets by G&W foods, then proceeding down Main Street to Booster Field.

Staging will begin at 9 a.m. July 4 at the gravel lot, with lineup starting shortly after.

Participants who are not driving a vehicle in the parade are asked to park at the City Pool and walk a short distance to the staging area to avoid further traffic congestion.

Parade entry forms are available online at the chamber website at wschamber.net, or in person at Shelter Insurance-Robert Hollis, Mainstreet Wellness Center or Simmons Bank-Willow Springs, as well as at the chamber office, 209 E. Main St., during business hours.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the changes or the parade itself please contact the Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce at 417-469-5519 or willowspringschamber@gmail.com and we will be happy to answer those questions.
