Editor’s note: In recognition of National Homeless Awareness Month, recognized each November, the Quill is publishing a series giving voice to members of the local community who have known what it’s like to be without a permanent place to call home. In this small series, the Quill talks to a family with young children who are currently benefiting from the support offered at Martha Vance Samaritan Outreach Center in West Plains, and a former resident of the shelter who gives back by volunteering his services when he can. See Wednesday’s Quill for part two.
