Editor’s note: In observation of National Homeless Awareness Month, recognized each November, the Quill is publishing a series giving voice to members of the local community who have known what it’s like to be without a permanent place to call home. In this small series, the Quill talks to a family with young children who are currently benefiting from the support offered at Martha Vance Samaritan Outreach Center in West Plains, and a former resident of the shelter who gives back by volunteering his services when he can. Part one of the series was printed in Tuesday's Quill. See Friday’s Quill for part three.
