It was reported at 9:34 a.m. July 17 that, that day, emergency medical services and deputies were dispatched to 2232 County Road 3910 in Mtn. View, Mo. for a possible deceased person. Mercy Ambulance personnel arrived on the scene and located a male individual deceased within the residence. The deceased, who was identified, had recently tested positive for Covid and had multiple underlying health conditions. No signs of foul play were noted at the scene. Coroner Tim Cherry was contacted from the scene. Clary Funeral Home of Alton, Mo. was contacted at the family’s request. Deputy Dylan T. Webb.
It was reported at 1:17 p.m. July 17 that, that day, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office received a report concerning a deceased female at a residence on Cedar St. in West Plains, Mo. The death was determined to be from natural causes and the case closed at this time. Corporal Logan J. Wake.
At about 7:34 p.m. July 17 Deputy Nicholas Z. Bruno took a report of a sexual offense case involving a juvenile. At the time of this report, the case remained under investigation by the Howell County Investigations Division.
It was reported at 12:22 p.m. July 18 that, that day, a man with Whetstone Boys Ranch called the sheriff’s office to report a runaway juvenile. The boy was located a short distance away, walking along a roadway, and returned to the facility without incident. Deputy Dylan T. Webb.
It was reported at 7:45 p.m. July 18 that, that day, a child was attempted to be entered as missing by his mother and grandmother after being taken by Children’s Division. Children’s Division was contacted and stated that the child was not missing and was at a safe location. The case was closed at the time of this report. Corporal Logan J. Wake.
It was reported at 9:40 a.m. July 19 that, that day, Deputy Dakota C. Millard was dispatched to County Road 2330 in Pomona, Mo. for a report of stolen property. Deputy Millard made contact with the reporting party who stated that a 1200-lb spool of Hybrid copper wire had been stolen, as well as some work tools used to install copper wire. Photographs were taken of the incident and this case was still under investigation at the time of this report.
