INCIDENTS

It was reported at 4:54 p.m. May 21 Deputy Devon Mendenhall responded to a report of property damage on DD Highway near Willow Springs. There are no known suspects and the investigation is ongoing.
It was reported at 3:40 p.m. May 22 Deputy Mendenhall responded to stealing report on County Road 5640. A report was taken and the investigation is ongoing.
It was reported at 5:26 p.m. May 22 Deputy Matt Foster received a call to respond to a theft of two trailers, a 2004 Dodge pickup and multiple other items from a residence on County Road 8270 in West Plains.
It was reported at 1:33 p.m. May 23 that a pastor with First Free Will Baptist Church on County Road 6460 reported someone had stolen their catalytic convertor from one of the church vans. The department is reviewing the security camera footage and trying to identify the man in the video. Deputy Nicholas Z. Bruno.
It was reported at 7:09 p.m. May 23 Deputy Ben Bishop was dispatched to a residence on County Road 3500 for a theft. The owner reported that metal pipes and metal pipe fittings worth $1,250 were stolen from her barn.
It was reported at 1:21 a.m. May 24 Deputy Mendenhall initiated a traffic stop on County Road 8620 for multiple traffic violations. During a search illegal narcotics were found.
It was reported at 7:46 a.m. May 24 Deputy Dylan T. Webb was dispatched to County Road 7960 near West Plains for a report of property damage and theft. Webb spoke with the owner who showed that items had also been taken from his residence and shop.
It was reported at 12:27 May 24 Deputy Webb was dispatched to County Road 6620 near West Plains for a property line dispute.
It was reported at 6:53 a.m. May 25 a deputy initiated a traffic stop on U.S. 160 for a vehicle exceeding the posted speed limit by 20 to 25 mph.

It was reported at 1:53 p.m. May 25 Deputy Bishop was dispatched to residence on County Road 1930 for an assault in progress. Arriving on the scene Bishop observed the victim standing by the road and that she had multiple bruises and cuts on her face, neck, arms, and upper portion of her chest. The suspect was unable to speak due to mental disability. The victim stated the man had gotten angry and started to attack her. The manager of the Perfect Partners care taking company arrived and said he would get another to watch the man. The victim declined to prosecute.
It was reported at 2:18 p.m. May 25 a sixteen-year-old boy had sexually touched an eight-year-old girl at a residence on DD Highway. Deputy Logan J. Wake attempted to speak with the boy but he fled from the residence and through the woods. Charges have been forwarded to the Juvenile Office.
It was reported at 9:24 p.m. May 25 Cpl. Derek Hughston received a call to respond to a theft of a firearm from a motor home located on County Road 8240 near West Plains. A person of interest has been identified.
It was reported at noon May 26 Deputy Bishop was dispatched to a residence on County Road 5120 for a report of a domestic assault. The victim was at the scene but the suspect was gone. The woman said the man who assaulted her had ran into the woods.
It was reported at 8:29 p.m. May 26 Cpl. Hughston had a vehicle flee from him. The driver abandoned the vehicle on private property and fled through the woods. Drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view within the vehicle and numerous items of paraphernalia and suspected marijuana were located upon completion of the search. The vehicle was removed from the property.
It was reported at 1:27 p.m. May 27 Deputy Matt Roberts received a call about a theft had occurred on County Road 5110.
It was reported at 1:05 a.m. May 28 Deputy M. Roam received a report of domestic assault on County Road 8230. The reporting party said that fight was between a boyfriend and girlfriend and the boyfriend left the scene with her purse and phone.
It was reported at 12:44 p.m. May 28 a man came into the sheriff’s office to report he was a victim of a scam. He purchased a vehicle part on Facebook and sent a check. The check was cashed but the part was never shipped to him.
It was reported at 9:19 p.m. May 28 Deputy Weaver spoke with a driver who had been pulled over on County Road 6920. The driver was found to be intoxicated and was arrested.
It was reported at 4:31 p.m. May 30 Deputy Weaver responded to Lanton Road near West Plains for the report of an assault that occurred on Highway 17 near Pomona. The woman stated she didn’t know where the men who assaulted her were.
