As I’ve mentioned before, sometimes the expectations I have to manage are my own. Whew.
First of all, let me just shout out an exuberant “Thank you!” That is for all of you who are sharing your news with me, sending submissions or telling me where to send reporters. You are the reason why these pages are as full as they are, and not only do we appreciate it, but I know our advertisers do, too. Please do make a point to show them your support while you’re doing business out in the community.
I had plans to write today’s column about the growth of our print shop and our revamped Progress section, but alas, those topics will have to wait until next week. But if you’ve walked by the office recently and wondered what all the construction was about, you’ll want to stay tuned.
A big shout out to our area FFA kids and future agricultural leaders featured in today’s pages. FFA Week starts Feb. 16, and we wanted to make sure our readers knew all about the activities they have planned, and how to support these innovative and hard-working kiddos. Kudos to all of the FFA sponsors and ag teachers setting these youth up to succeed.
And thank you again to all of our readers, our schools, community leaders and just single one of you who shows the Quill your support. Community journalism matters more now than ever, and you are absolutely the heart of it.
