Ozarks Healthcare has continued its stated commitment to community health by extending its Mobile Mammography Unit services through September. The health system stresses the importance of proactive health measures, especially in the early detection of breast cancer.
Early detection remains key factor in the battle against breast cancer, say officials, who urge people not to schedule their mammograms without delay.
Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit features advanced 3D mammogram screening technology, providing comprehensive examinations.
The Mobile Mammography Unit will be in place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Missouri Highlands Health Car, 61 Y Highway in Ellington, then from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, it will be at the OZH Winona clinic, 9104 Highway 19. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, it will be at OZH Mtn. Grove, 500 E. 19th St.
Stops the following week include 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 10 at OZH Alton, 100 Medical Drive; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 11 at OZH Mtn. View, 220 N. Elm St.; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Fordland Clinic, 1059 Barton Drive in Fordland.
The next week’s stops begin with a 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 17 stay at OZH Thayer, 1375 Nettleton Ave. Then, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 18, it will be at Town & Country Supermarket, 102 Main St. in Gainesville, and from 9 a.m to 2 p.m. Sept. 19, at Missouri Highlands Health Care, 1 Hal’s Plaza, Suite A, in Piedmont.
The September tour will conclude with stops from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at Missouri Ozarks Community Health, 504 W. Broadway Ave. in Ava; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Missouri Highlands Health Care-Doniphan North, 109 Leroux St. in Doniphan; and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., West Plains Bank and Trust Company-Willow Springs Branch, 708 E. Main St. in Willow Springs.
Patients are encouraged to schedule a mammogram in advance by calling 417-257-5912. Appointments are limited.
Patients wishing to have mammograms conducted through Ozarks Healthcare’s Mobile Mammography Unit must be female and 40 years or older; have had no mammograms in the past year; not be pregnant or breastfeeding; have no implants or breast issues such as breast discharge, lumps, pain or discoloration; and not have ever been diagnosed with breast cancer.
