Crews contracted by the Missouri Department of Transportation will soon begin work to improve U.S. 160 in Howell and Oregon Counties.
The project includes replacing culverts, adding a southbound turn lane at the St. Louis Street/BB Highway intersection with U.S. 160 in West Plains, adding shoulders and rumble strips from U.S. 63 in West Plains to Highway 99 in Oregon County between Thomasville and Alton.
Drivers should anticipate a lane reduction with a 10-foot width restriction.
Weather permitting, work will be underway from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily Oct. 9 through Oct. 1, 2024, including weekends as necessary.
As construction is in progress, flaggers will be present and traffic will be guided through the work zone by a pilot car.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
