Posted

The West Plains R-7 School District Communications Office received a national award for district programs, materials and multiple forms of communications.

The Merit Award for Publications and Digital Media Excellence was presented by the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) to the R-7 School District for its video series “We Are Zizzers.” The series highlights Zizzer tradition and features staff, teachers, administrators, students, parents and community members.

“The award reflects our amazing teachers, students and staff for providing the opportunity to tell stories about their incredible work,” said Lana Snodgras, R-7’s director of communications. “Strong communication efforts and effective family and community engagement are a top priority for our district as outlined in our strategic plan. I am extremely proud of the district’s communication efforts and happy to have such a supportive team.”

Snodgras has been leading the district’s communication efforts for over 12 years.

The association’s Publications and Digital Media Excellence Awards are  given for outstanding work in educational communications, including print and digital publications, video, audio, websites and social media.

NSPRA’s 2022 National School Communication Award winners were announced June 10, and winning entries will be recognized during the association’s annual Meeting and Celebration of Achievement during the July National Seminar.
