The Howell County Sheriff’s Office has received official lab results confirming the second set of remains found in a cistern near Lanton last August are those of Limon Little, missing since December 2020.
Howell County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Angela Conboy issued a statement Tuesday afternoon announcing the sheriff’s office had received an official report from an outside laboratory that identified the remains as those of Little.
Conboy noted the conclusion was made after comparing a profile generated from Little’s remains to DNA provided by his sister and the probability was determined to be 99.33%.
After receiving the information, Sheriff Matt Roberts informed Little’s next-of-kin.
At this time, officials said, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office continues to work leads and is actively working with the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crime Lab on other evidence. In addition to this, the FBI will be requested to aid in additional evidence testing/processing.
The remains were found in the same location as those that were identified March 18 as belonging to Ira Briscoe. Briscoe and Little were known to be friends and both were reported missing within two days of each other in December 2020.
Law enforcement, friends and family of Briscoe did multiple searches in the Lanton and Koshkonong area where Briscoe lived. When Briscoe's remains were identified, Little's next of kin were notified by Roberts because it was believed the two men were together when they went missing.
